Tour Details

This tour is just a small section of our Best of Morocco Tour and the opposite of our Marrakesh to Fez itinerary.

This particular route allows you to depart Fez and venture through the Sahara Desert, and continue through the Dades Valley and Todra Gorge.

It also allows you to enjoy the scenery of Skoura, known as the Valley of Kasbahs, along with Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, until you cross over the High Atlas Mountains for a drop off in Marrakesh.

Itinerary

Day 1 Fez -Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga (7hrs)

Welcome, Mrehba!

After breakfast you will travelling towards Ifran, a beautiful village in the mountains, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”,Midelt and then to Merzouga.

During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains.

Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco –After sometime within the forest, your journey continues to Merzouga along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas,you’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia.

Here you will have lunch and enjoy the Berber hospitality.

Afterwards, you will travel along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for more panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani.

Arriving at Merzouga on the afternoon,night in the hotel.

Day 2Sahara Desert (3hrs)

After breakfast, you’ll take the 4*4 for a tour to the caves where the fossils of natural desert are found ,then taking the road used by Paris Dakar rally and pass through the desert with its black volcanic rocks where we will take team with the touareg family, then we arrive at the Khamlia village famous for its black population from Africa and their music, this village is also famous for the music and the dance festival that takes place every year during the first week of august then we go back to the hotel, you’ll start your camel ride to spend an overnight on the desert camp with Berber music and sand boarding.

Day 3Merzouga-Rissani – Dades Valley – Skoura (5hrs)

This morning, you’ll be able to rise with the sunset to grab some photos before hopping back onto the camels for the short ride back to the hotel.

You’ll then head through Rissani, before continuing on the road to Tinjedad for lunch.

En route to Skoura, you can choose to drive up into either the Todra Gorge or Dades Valley.

Tonight, you’ll be staying in the Skoura palm grove, known as the Valley of Kasbahs.

You will have the option to spend the night in the Dades Valley or in Ouarzazate.

Day 4Drop off in Marrakesh (5hrs)

After leaving Skoura, you can visit Ouarzazate and the Taorirt Kasbah once owned by the Glaouis family.

You will also be stopping at the UNESCO world heritage site at Ait Ben Haddou.

Then, you’ll head over theTiz n Tichka pass, which goes over the High Atlas Mountains and to Marrakesh.
